R10 problem

I recently (about 2 weeks ago) bought a pair of R10 bookshelf speakers and notice a crackling or buzzing sound rather, coming from both speakers when playing music with a lot of mid-range. It appears to be coming from the tweeters. I use them as my main speakers with a JVC 6010 receiver. Will using an optical cable instead of analog connection from my cd player help? Does this mean i have blown the tweeters. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Noel:

If you can, try another set, or one speaker on each channel and see if you get the same problem. It is unlikely that both speakers would be bad, but try that and if you still get the buzz your receiver has a problem. Do you have everything set up right?

Thanks for the reply. Yes i believe i have everything set up correctly. I have tried other speakers and get the same problem. ?However it is less noticeable with the Polks. I thought the Awia speakers i had were going bad but it turs out that it could be the receiver, which i have has less than 6 months. Is it possible that a digital cable may help this?
I am running my cd's from a JV portable cd player right now as my new cd changer hasn't come in yet. This may also be the problem. Nonetheless, i needed new speakers anyway and i know the polks were a good speaker to go with. Thanks

.....I'm going to go out on a limb and tell you that your reciever is the culprit. If you are getting the same problem with different speakers than I would say that I would have your reciever looked at.
