A friend told me somebody is selling a pair of RT55 and a CS245 for $250. Is this a good price? Is the RT55 comparable to Monitor 10?

The RT55 is an oversized bookshelf. Not really comparable to the Monitor 10. Still its a good speaker and the price you mentioned is a good deal for all 3 speakers. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

RT55s are $200-250 CS245 are $100-125 in good shape on auction sites.
Personally, I prefer the 55s to the Monitor 10. The 10 digs a little deeper, but has phase issues that are audible to me. The 55s do just about everything well. They are the encyclopedia version of a bookshelf.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable
