Was that a good series or what (Sharks won the 1st round 4 games to 1). Every game was a battle and exciting to watch.
The games were on four different channels at times, ESPN, ESPN 2, Fox Sports, and local Cable 36. I thought that cable 36 had the best Pro Logic surround mix of the three and ESPN/ESPN 2 being the worst. I would think that ESPN/ESPN 2 being nation wide channels would offer better surround encoding for sports, but then again they show a lot of baseball.
Go Hockey, Go San Jose Sharks!!

    Agreed norm,

Espn basically has no encoding for surround. I always play the games in 5 channel stereo.

Great series by the Sharks. If the Avs and Wings win out it looks like the Avs and Sharks will meet up in round 2. Nabakov(sp?) is looking real tough right now.

It should be a couple of great series. Avs and Sharks, Blues and Detroit. I think all the teams have a great chance of winning the cup. You gotta love playoff hockey. GO BLUES!!!

It's good to know that there are other hockey fans that also enjoy good sounds. I look forward to the Sharks playing one of your teams next round. Good luck, but not to much luck, to them.

Five channel sports is awesome, it's cool to hear the blade of a skate spray ice just behind your ear.

    GO WINGS!!!

Hey Avelanchefan, I'll bet you 6' of used speaker cable, 3 monster cable twist on banana plugs and 1 plug converter (three prong to two), against what you'd willing to part with, that the sharks will win the series.

    Hey AvelancheFan.....

Great Game #6 Victory on the "road" last night....First an Earthquake at the Arena, then a Overtime Goal !!!

I am having Deja-Vu from last year when my Devils were up in the Stanley Cup Series 3-2 and then lost game #6 at home and game #7 on the road to the Avs.

Good luck in game #7 Tomorrow Night !!!

Wow what a game last night.

Norm no way would I make that bet. I seriously think the Sharks are going to win the series. I admit the Sharks just look better, and Roy saved their hides last night. I just don't think the Avs will have anything left in the tank. The Sharks have just physically crushed them since game one.

Beski64- Thanks. It was fun to watch last night. Nothing like a game seven in hockey. Roy will have to be at his best to keep the Avs in it. But I think they lose 3-1.

It's been a great series (except for the 8-2 spanking the Avs gave the Sharks) I can't make a prediction. Roy is just to good in do or die situations, he showed that in game six. I hope that the game is worthy of a the hard fought seven game series it has become. Besides, I believe that Detroit will take the whole damn thing anyway. Good luck to your Avs.
