Why did you hang the surrounds upside down? Nice setup!

    Bjorn - Nice setup.

Cfrizz - They are packaging them differently today. This is an approach Mission has used for many years. Bookshelves have flexibility in placement, in all respects.

The speaker is the same, regardless of position....as placement dictates how you utilize it.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Why did Polk put a keyhole mounting bracket on rear ported speakers? Will rear porting adversely affect SQ when wall mounted?

Sweet, congratulations on a nice set up, what a way to watch Letterman as you fall to sleep! One question though, how do you get out of the room? Looks like the left front is blocking the exit.

LOL that's just an optical illusion i guess. There is actually about 4 feet of space between the left speaker and the rear wall, plenty of space for the door to open :) The left and right speaker are each a few feet away from the rear wall while the center is up against it.

I'm from texas, but the kit came with decals for Happy Hooligans as well as the Oregon ANG. I thought the cowboy in the back looked neat so i decided to use those :) This is my second attempt at building a model kit and i think its turning out okay so far (my first model turned out so bad, that now i just use it for practice for new techniques :))

    ah el paso UTEP...Football....

I go to college in san antonio and one of the electronics stores here is called Bjorn's. Just thought it would be interesting to see if you were related. The owner is a really stand up guy and quite helpful.

Good luck at UTEP and keep up the good audio work.

Yes I would also like to know if wall-mounting rear ported speakers affects sound quality because I have my monitor 30s wall mounted too. Any my monitor 40s and CS1 are both right next to the wall

Thanks for all the nice comments :)

Im guessing the only effect that having the rear port facing the walls would be the bass resonse, however, the Monitor30s produce very little bass on their own anyways so that's probably not even much of an issue. Anyway, i have the bass for the suround speakers routed through that PSW10 i got from that circuit city package deal so bass from the Monitor30s probably isnt really a concern, atleast in my case.

I guess the only way to figure out how much different it would be is to move them a couple feet away from the wall and see how they sound :)
