Hey everyone, I am wondering what kind of amplifier would give me full potential of my speakers (mmc690 and mmc5250) I have never bought an amplifier. hehe, and I want to make my first buy right :) so any people who is experienced with these speakers and is powering them with an external amplifier I'd be pleased to read your opinions on what should I look for.. what is the perfect power to give these speakers, 80rms?90rms?100rms?110rms? is the C400.4 the best buy?. Any kind of input would be appreciated. :)

The 400.4 would be a great choice. It makes about 90 watts per channel which will be about perfect for those speakers.

If the 400.4 is within your budget, that would be my first choice.

If not, tell us your budget and we can recommend something in that range.

im willing to pay what it needs to be paid to make them sounds superb :p ! so sticking with MoMo amplifier would be the best choice? what about other brands that gives 100x4rms for example RockfordFostgate P8004 or Kicker SX700.4(85x4rms, surely bit more) or 90rms (momo) is high enough.? thx for replies! keep them comingg! ;) and by the way is there going to be some new momo amplifier for 2006, speakers too ? :D

also.. I will be running them at full-range no cutting. x-over. I can feel that the mmc690 has some great amount of bass, tight bass

Hey bro no speaker can stand to be run at full range. Those mmc690's need to be crossed over at 80hz. If you run them at full range and you play them loud a lot you will blow them. Every speaker has to have a cutoff point somewhere. Thats why they make lots of different size speakers. Your not going to get but so much bass out of the mmc690's. So if your looking for that much bass you need to add a subwoofer.

The 690s are a great speaker, I owned a set for a couple years and think theyre the best 6x9's on the market. However, Cam is right that youre not going to get a lot of bass out of them. You will get very decent punch from them but nothing compared to a sub.

Still, I wouldnt run them any lower than 60 Hz. They dont do well below that and tend to distort.

the 400.4 is the perfect amp because it makes the right amount of power and that crossover network it has is top shelf. If its within your budget you should get the 400.4 and high pass the 650's at 80 Hz and the 690's at 60 Hz and see what you think.
