Have any of you purchased the new SDA SurroundBar yet?

No, but I'm seriously considering it. My only real issue right now is figuring out exactly what I want to do with the video rig. I know I want a bigger tv (and will need it, the SurroundBar won't fit in my cabinet now).
I've got the VMPS, so the sub is covered, no matter what. Do I simplify, and go SurroundBar, or go full blown again, RTA 11T, CS350 (in the fm), and TBD rears. I simply cannot decide. That last statement says a lot, about the quality the SurroundBar brings to the table - I know I could be perfectly happy with it.

Doing anything with the video rig, for me, is way back burner. It's probably been six months since I've played a DVD. However, I would be perfectly satisfied with a surround bar for HT purposes.

I haven't auditioned one and was trying to figure out what nitch it fills. I was picturing it in a smaller room and system setting like in a bedroom or such. Are you guys who've heard it saying it's a good replacement for a full sized HT or not going that far?
-
I wouldn't go THAT far, honestly. For a bedroom rig or some such....PERFECT.

Gottcha, thanks.

For me, a non-HT guy the SurroundBar is perfect. It's much better than TV speakers and I've no interest in having all those speakers needed for 5.1 HT in my house. I haven't bought one yet, but it's coming.Political Correctness'.........defined

It sounds like it might be the ideal way to get HT in the master bedroom. Hummm, I'll have to think about this.

I would definetly go SB if I didn't already have an HT. My current room isn't all that large so it would be perfect for me. I'm getting tired of crap on the wall and the next house, in-wall only approach, is way down the road.
I played with that SB for a couple months and never really missed anything about my HT. I have no interest in 7.1 or 20.1, at the moment....5.1 does just fine.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -

I have been thinking about one when I grab a flat screen for the bedroom. I'm thinking the SB and I-Sonic should make me real comfortable for a long time.

I posted this in Mark's review thread, but maybe it should have been here?
I thing the Surroundbar is a great innovation and wish Polk the best.
In looking at pictures, a couple of questions popped into mind.
I know the SB uses much smaller drivers, but it seems astonishing that there's no more (apparent) volume to the enclosure! Having said that, do you all think the same basic enclosure and drive array might be "split" in a later model -- allowing the L&R channels to function as stand-mounted units and more flexibility in placement of the channels and center?
I look at my old (but excellent pic quality) Toshiba 32" CRT in the upstairs family room (with limited horizontal real estate on its top) and think "that would be cool if I could set the center on top and have the channels as sides, placed where I want them!"
