Has anyone bought or checked out the new M10 and M20 floorstander?

I was thinking about giving them a listen this weekend. Problem is, I'll have to buy a pair or two and take them home. Lord knows you can't get a good demo at Circuit City.

Cheers,
Russ

You cant get any demo at Circuit City.

I went there last weekend specifially to give them a listen and while the M40's and M70's are hooked up to a home theater, the Monitor 30 and M's are sitting on the speaker shelf with receivers under them but none are hooked up.

I was thinking of putting on my Polkfest shirt this weekend and going in there acting like a representative from Polk and make a stink about not being able to listen to any of the Polk speakers.

Ill give ya three guesses which which speaker was hooked up to receivers. -Hint- It rhymes with blows.

Somebody needs to give em a kick in the ****.

Tour did that within the last year at one of his local CC's. I've thought about doing that to my local CC, but that would my own business......

they look nothing more than a re-finished "R" series to me.

if you look at another thread i just made a few minutes ago, you will see how i rejected the M10s in favor of the monitor 30s :) The circuit city here in el paso, texas had all the polks hooked up properly. The difference in sound from the M10 to the monitor 30s was substantial. The M10s suverely lacked treble although midrange seemed to be decent.

I'll check it out, thanks, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome :) If you look at the reviews for them around the internet you will find that some others feel the same way. However, for the price I would say that they are still definately a good deal. I just dont think they would be a good choice as mains, but probably fine for surrounds :)

The also look gorgeous with the grills on, almost exactly like the Monitor 30s (except they are a tad smaller and dont have the plastic bumpers on the back)

Very interesting... I just found out about them now. I'm guessing the new M series are suppose to go between R and Monitor?

    Russ,
How did the Monitor series compare to RT's when you had them on tubes? I'm thinking about getting a pair of Monitor 30 and see how they do against my RT15i. I have to say, the 15i can image like crazy. Insane 3D presentation. Now I've got a thing for Polk's small bookshelfs. Their imaging is superb. I may pick up a pair of M10 if I see them at a Polk dealer.

I believe the M10s are just the R15s with a new appearance.

You can't even get a bad demo! The local CC moved, and doesn't have an audio room. It's all just tucked into a corner. I couldn't tell the sound of a Polk from a boom box in their current set up. Seems only car audio gets any attention. A couple of HT systems are hooked up with no real way to play any
music-its all movie crap. I guess we all are just supposed to point at some speakers and hand the kid our credit card.
