No one replied to his post during business hours today, so he's taken his ball and gone home.

A two sub/amp combo for $199 iirc, wondering if it was a deal or not.

Yeah, thats a damn good deal.

Kicker is a little too mainstream for me but they do make very solid gear.

I wasn't aware that he needed opinions quick. I apologize, Noel. I could've said I thought it was a good deal, but I wasn't familiar with the equipment and so didn't say anything. But Kicker is generally good stuff (on par with Alpine, Memphis, Fosgate, etc.).

But I sure stocked up on subs and amps during this deal!! :D

Had to exercise my 'SOPA'ness a little there. :D

depends... kicker comp's aren't exactly anything to write home about - at 150 wrms each, they're pretty silent as far as subs go.

kicker amps are "eh eh" in my opinion. they're not what they used to be... they're not bad by any means, but they're not the cat's meow.

for 2 bills for 2 comp's and a 300 w amp (if that's what was up for sale - just a guess), that's not bad. I'd rather shop the closeouts though.

If your a basshead kicker is the way to go. If your a sq freak you better look elsewhere because when kicker says "Living Loud" that's what they mean. They build **** to be loud not to sound good.

Nah, their L7 subs sound very good and yet can get extremely loud.

Id have no problem running L7's in a SQ setup.

L7 = overpriced hunk of scrap if you're judging it on SQ --- it is a wildly loud SPL sub... or lets rephrase... a sub you can use in your daily driver that will sound allright (emphasis on "allright" -- not "good") that gets sick loud. dollars to donuts, go with an IDmax or even a friggin W7 off ebay or something if you want an 1,000+ watt SQ sub.

I mean the kicker L7's are great subs. But the louder you get the more distortion your going to pick up also.

All depends what you have pushing it. If you have and amp reaching it's limits yes, if not then as long as you stay within the woofer's parameters things should be ok. This is assuming that it is also in the proper enclosure.

I ran Kicker amps and subs for years with no issues. If I remember right one amp for 7 years (Kicker ZX460). The other ones were from the ZR line. I had a KX600.1 for a while, and that was a nice amplifier.
