Ya know, I wouldnt be suprised to learn that in 100 years, marriage wont exist anymore.

I can count on one hand the number of young couples I know of that have lasted a long time.

i don't even need fingers to count. i know NO one in any age bracket that has a very good relationship. well, maybe my buddy steveinaz. but really, i take marriage seriously. that is why i don't do it. i am not worthy of it in my current state. anyway, two things will prolly be gone in the next 50-100 years imo, marriage and halloween.

Well, You can put me down as having an Excellent relationship with my wife... True, it was rocky at first, and we almost split, but after fighting thru our problems, we are rock solid. And, BTW, we are in the 24-25 year old age bracket ;)

We have our 19th anniversary this Sunday; ups and lows as in every relationship, but the balance is high on the positive side. I think the problem with some young couples is that they want it to be "easy" and at the first difference they split....Marriage is not easy, but worth it IMO.

15 years on May 18th. I am now 39 and it was the first marriage for both of us.

We don't always see eye to eye, but we work through it till one sees the others point or one just decides the argument isn't worth it... :D:D

I think marriage is great, then again, I sucked at being single.

Only 6yrs here, but then my wife is only 26 and I'm only 28. No real fights yet. We had the kids, money, and religion stuff all hammered out before the wedding and we actually like all the inlaws...
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. The Mrs. and I are now at 18.5 wonderful years together. We got married in our mid-twenties after being high school sweethearts (she just 15, me 16.5). Her parents thought I was worthless with my Led Zep t-shirts and no aspirations of higher education. After I graduated I went into the service and she went to college. We dated other people on and off over the next eight years (mostly off), but whenever I came home on leave, it was as if I never left.

I got an assignment to Germany, got married, and we had a three-year honeymoon. Now my in-laws think I'm the best thing since sliced bread. Their daughter is very happy and we've given them two outstanding grandchildren. I also finished school with two degrees. Yeah, I rock. :D

My best friend was a guy named Art. I don't think that would have worked - hell I don't even think it would have been legal. I'll stick with the wife I got.... :D:D:D

MrNightly that's great that you and your wife are getting along so well. A lot of spouses have a difficult time being married to cops. They just don't understand what we go through.

Ha... *glancing over shoulder to see if she's still there*... ya we get along great... ;)

Just kidding. No we have had our fair share of fights, and it hasn't been easy, but i can honestly say we are happy with eachother (most of the time) and neither of us wants out. She hates my job at times, but hey, i'm the only one working so there's not much she can do ;) I don't think she really does understand what i do/go thru on the job, but that's why i have buddies right?

My wife and I are weeks away from hitting 14 years of marriage, we also dated 5 years before that. Neither of us were married before.

Marriage takes work, lots of it. But if you date long enough and work at it, it will work. My personal opinon is people are too weak and give up too easily or didn't date near long enough to get to know the person they married. After all, people rarely change.

i envy all of you. my ex is a very wonderful gal. but she and i just can't get it right. we've been beating a dead horse for 11 years. hard to totally part ways being that we have to little boys. we've tried everything, but everything fails. i am interested in another gal, but my guilt won't allow me to investigate it. when i read about things like masanz just typed, it makes me wonder... hey, can love be had again? i'm gonna be 30 this month, but have already thrown in the towel. sheesh, what a crazy thing relationships are.

well, it'll be only five years at our next anniversary with two years of dating/engagement before that. same as y'all with the fights and hard work but still going strong. my church home group has about eight married couples in it, all of us in our 30s, first marriages, and with one or two kids. i guess statistically we're due for a bunch of divorces somewhere, but i wouldn't put the nail in the coffin of marriage anytime soon just 'cause the stats are against us.
