I recently got an older amp that has a nasty hiss in the Right channel. It gets louder as I turn-up the volume. I've heard caps dry-out in older amps. Does this sound possible. Can anybody offer an easy troubleshooting route with an ohm/voltmeter?

    HI:

Doing a visual check on all the caps and resistors may reveal something. If resistors are cracked or naturally burned they are bad. Look for leaks on caps, it will show up on the ends. Look over the circuit board and see if there are any cracks or burned places. Also take a magnifying glass and look for bad or loose solder joints. You would need a schematic to test the components accurately.

That is about all I can offer.
