No.
What are you powering?
Amps don't make "sound". Depends on the drivers you are using.10" Pioneer TS-255C, ported tuned to 38hz with 25in^2 port area.
Run off Profile CA1200 (900w@4ohm)this would create a "sledge hammer" effect and a terrible localization of bass. lets say we downfire the sub... not only would it be localized, but the reflected bass waves would shoot right back at the cone and probably cancel out a lot of the sound... whereas the conical "normal" sub would allow these waves to bounce all around. -
i no that they dont make "sound" but they will chang what a sub sounds like to my knowldge.
i was looking at a kicker 15 inch s15l7 in a sealed boxPolk monitor 10B's and 5 jr's

No they wont do that either other than one may be louder than another.
Power Accoustik is a good budget amp. Theyre built well enough and will probably make their rated power. However, they wouldnt be my first choice. If youre wanting to run a L7 youre going to need some serious grunt, at least 1000 watts.
The best thing to do is to save up $200 more and get this Orion 1200D for $400. It is an outstanding amp that will run circles around the Power Accoustik and it will pound the hell out of that Kicker.
If youre going to spend $500 on a sub, dont chince on the amp. Youll be glad you didnt.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

It'll be worth the $400. That Orion is an awesome amp. If you can't fork over that much, downgrade on the sub 'til you can afford an appropriate amp.George Grand wrote: »

That Orion amp is a $900 amp. Its only $400 because its on year end clearance. When the new models are about to come out they clean out the old ones.
Just remember this, you get what you pay for and this is true nowhere more than in audio. There is an old saying, "the sweetness of a low price is soon forgotten while the bitterness of low quality remains."polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Nope. But availability may very well become a problem as time progresses since it's a "last year's" item.George Grand wrote: »

I would say power acoustik and jensen are running a close race for last place in the car audio world. They both have a lot in common neither one of them are worth a ****.

Dont forget Crunch. Audiobahn is down there too. The only people that run Audiobahn are people sponsored by them. Nobody runs them when they have a choice.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

get that, comes with a 6 month warranty from directed even though it is a refurbFiberglass reminds me of peanut brittle, only fiberglass tastes better! -
Ugh. I dont like refurbs. I highly recommend spending the extra bones and getting a brand new piece from an authorized dealer. A low price is great but low quality that comes with it usually isnt.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Man they have a alpine v-12 4 channel amp over at onlinecarstereo for 275 bucks which they say is brand new. Over at crutchfield sells for 449 bucks. Now i would love to jump on it if only they were a trusted store, but you never know what your going to get with them it might be refurbed for all i know.

Yeah, I just dont trust them.
Ive heard of too many people buying things from unauthorized dealers and then kapoot.
Cody bought some Diamond speakers from them about a year ago and they screwed up.
They have good warranty and customer service tho which is comforting but Id just rather have the goods from the start.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

the amp you asked about - the power acoustic 1920/2 -- it will do its rated power i believe... its rated at 880 x 1 @ 4 ohms bridged. it's not the best thing since sliced bread, but its respectable. i had previously investigated that particular line of power acoustik amps (they're OLD - not real old, but definately old enough to call "old" - gear), and was in serious consideration of buying a couple of them.
sounddomain.com has it for 180 bucks - they're an authorized retailer, so you get the warranty and all of that jazz.

is it the best way to spend 200 bucks? i don't know. i could keep telling everybody which mtx old stock amp to buy, but people get sick of hearing my personal favorites after a while, and it doesn't promote diversity in audio either... if all i did was stick with my personal favorites, then i'd never have broadened my tastes to use other equipment... and that would be a bad thing. so hey - if it suits your needs for your speakers, go ahead... it's not a piece of garbage. it is a good value (dollar per watt kind of thing). The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
Nothing wrong with sticking with what works. I pimp MTX all the time cause I know theyre excellent quality gear and wont let anybody down.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
