A quote from a current Ebay auction for a Carver M-500 amp:

"COSMETICALLY, THE UNIT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH SCRATCHES ON TOP, MINOR DINGS ON FRONT AND MINOR RUST SPOTS ON SIDES."

Hmmm...excellent condition huh? Sheesh.

    sounds about like this ad on audiogon of all places where the user states the following:

    Was tan, but painted it black to match other speakers. Sub is brand new and in "mint" condition, but because it was painted, rated it at 9/10

    9 out of 10 for a painted subwoofer - that matches the audiogon scale...

    Mint, to me means absolutely no flaws, perfect, non, nada, zip, zero.
