Surround speakers for cathedral ceiling

I'm a newbie to this, so I am hoping some of you can help me out with my dilema. First I will try to describe the room that I want 5.1 surround in. The room is about 17x30 with a wall (long side) of windows and a fireplace down one wall with the opposite wall open to other rooms (kitchen, foyer). The ceiling is a cathedral ceiling the whole length of the room. The big screen TV is on one of the end cap walls. The room is divided by a large sectional sofa, so the area for the HT is about half of the room.

When the house was built the builder installed high quality Monster cable for the rear surrounds in the cathedral ceiling. So, I am inclined to utilize the existing speaker wiring and go with ceiling mounted rear surround speakers. The speakers for the system that I am considering are:
- Polk Rti8 front towers
- Polk CSi5 center
- Polk FXi5 rear surround
- Polk PSW12 sub

The question is - will this configuration work well considering that the rear surrounds will be mounted flush against the cathedral ceiling on either side about 10ft high and (following the ceiling angle /\ ) pointing directly down at the listening area?

Any advise or comment will be greatly appreciated.

sorry no one has replied yet, but i'd say give her a try. that's the only way you'll be able to tell. but after rethinking it, for 5.1 i'd probably just go with rti6's. just my opinion. and obviously try to buy from a store with a liberal return policy.
