Several months ago I ran across a classical LP which said "Command Series". The performance was somehow recorded with 35mm film, so it said. The sound quality was excellent. Well, last night I stopped at a Goodwill store, went straight back to the LP section and found about 10 LP's from this "Command Series" and each one was in absolute mint condition!!! 10 bucks... I love finding this stuff!

Nice find. I have not played any of my LP's in years and I own an old Dual turntable.

Most of them were classical or poplular selections of a given year by different groups. For example, one was called "Classic Preview '67" and one was "Popular Preview '68" etc. One I played last night was recorded really hot and sounded somewhat distorted but the other ones are fine. I don't know if this was their intent or not as it was one of the "Popular" series. It was right on the edge.

Those guys (Command) used to record bands like "Enoch Light & the Light Brigade" among others. Or was that the Phase 4 guys that recorded them? Tough to remember.

The recordings were right on but some of the music was questionable.

I picked up a PRISTINE copy of Rhapsody in Blue on RCA Living Stereo today. I'm THRILLED. I've got it on SACD so I'm interested in doing a little A/B.
