SVS Help
Need help deciding which SVS sub will fit my needs. I have rti10's, csi5, and fxi3's. My room is 18' x 20' with 12' cathedral cealings. Will the PCI fill the room or will I need to step up to the PCI plus? The PCI plus is a little out of my price range right now. Just trying to decide if I should wait. Thanks for any feedback.

As a relative newby I would suggest you contact SVS by email and see what they think. They will most likely ask you for a drawing of your room including adjoining spaces and your listening habits. A big personal variable is the "fill my room" comment as everyone has different needs but I would save a little and get the PC+.
If it helps here is my story. They only sub I ever had was the free PSW-10 that came with my RTi-10s. My room is 15'x19'x9' and I had my eyes on the 20-39 PCi. I contacted SVS and they thought that would be great for me if I did not want it very loud. Not wanting to have upgraditis later I convinced my wife to let me spend the extra money on a 20-39 PC+.
I was all set to order it when I checked Audiogon and to my great surprise, and luck, a 6 month old PC-Ultra showed up for about what a PC+ runs. I jumped on it and to say I'm extremely happy with it is an understatement. I will add that Ron was very helpful and responsive even after I asked questions about the Ultra and warranty concerns. As you have no doubt read their customer service is exceptional even though they were not going to get a sale out of it.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

Thanks MADGSF, I will be emailing SVS this week to see what they recommend. How do you like your SVS paired with the RTi10's?RTi 8's

I love the combination but I still want to add an amp to get the best out of the RTi-10s. This can wait for a while though as I am very happy with the current setup.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

I think the PC+ is worth waiting for until you get the needed cash.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

Without trying to calculate how much cf is in your ceiling, I would guess your room is 4000cf+ and thats pretty large & Im sure its probably not sealed off from other rooms so add those in also. That said I dont think the PCI will give you what you want in the long run in that room, if you are comming from lesser subs that dont go down very deep you will be happy at first when you see what a good sub can do down low but I think after a while you will be wanting more. I started out with a 20-39+ in my 3000cf leaky room & it would be pushed to its limits and I dont think it would have done very well with WOTW & the new trend torwards that kinda bass in movies. I think you would be better off waiting till you have a little more money & getting a b-stock pb12+2 for around $1000.

I've got a PC+ in a room that is about that size, maybe a little taller ceiling and my room is VERY open to kitchen/dining room. I would save for the PC+ at a bare minimum. It does the trick in my room, but I would say that I couldn't get away with anything less. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
