matching center speaker

I have vintage model 10 studio monitor speakers still in great condition.
My question is to find out the best match for a center polk in a 5.1 surround.
CSi5? or is the cs1/2 ok?

what is the voice matching spec?

    Welcome to the Club... 10's are well regarded in these parts...

    I think the answer lies with which generation of Mon 10 you own. If the oldest, the 10A with the black, Peerless Tweeter, then the CSi's are a good choice.

    If they're later 10's with the SL2000 or SL1000 tweeters, then the older centers like the CS400 or CS350LS should match better. These of course would require used market hunting, i.e., Club Polk, ebay, Audiogon, or local sources. With patience you can find good used prices and assure that you will not lose money if you don't like the match.

    As for your spec question... there isn't a spec that will tell you whether or not a center is a good voice (or timbre) match for your mains, only your ears can do that. Best I and others who may answer can do is tell you what our ears have told us... and your results may vary.

    I have rt10's in front with rt5's in rear with a cs250 in center. If I want to upgrade the center, what is the biggest center polk made in this line? The cs350?

    I have a CS350LS in the Flea Market that I plan to put on Agon or Ebay this weekend.

    $195 plus shipping (exactly what I paid a couple months ago), excellent condition.

    Biggest of the CS line was the CS1000p... basically a CS400 plus a couple of powered woofers. Not really a plus in my book.

    The 350 was the biggest of the non-powered centers. It's a nice, low profile center.
