A local shop has a used pair available for $300. Are these Magnepans any good? The original price is $550 a pair.

RuSsMaN owned a pair for a few months and he gave a favorable review of them. Maybe he'll chime in.

for 300.00 cant go wrong with em, by word of mouth alone. I'd try em with my hsu stf-2 sub to see how that would sound. I heard nothing but good things about em, and at that price, I'd snag em just to try em.

I think I'll pass. Audio Concepts in Dallas. Website audioconceptsonline.com
I often check their used /demo stuff. I've found some good deals. They have had some real nice older high end stuff come in and out this year. Good place to look for 2 channel.
