I think polk recommends a 40 hour breakin on the 104's and 124's, I broke mine in before installing them on my living room floor and haven't had the sound do anything like that. Also, it could be the amp, or the ground on the amp. Are you still using the jensen xa275??? Because that would be under powering them like a mofwackle.
As for the 100 hz... it will start at 100hz and go down 6 db's every halving of hz... so like at 50hz it would be down to it's full -6, then at 25hz it would be at -12db's and at 12.5hz it would be at -18dbs.

Just to update this ancient thread... I finally got the caps installed this weekend (they've been sitting on my shelf for months), and I must say that the DB570's are MUCH cleaner now.
Unfortunately, now that the subs are being relied on for more of the range, I really need a new amp for them to make this system sing. The old Jensen amp just isn't cutting it anymore...Ludicrous gibs! -
