ok...
ads and pop-ups in the beta hijack your browser
it cuts off downloads at random times
it disrupts your internet connection (wireless).
it's filled to the brim with adware and spyware.
it has trouble authenticating your password, saying it's invalid when it's not.
it puts AOL explorer on your PC without your consent.
it's slow, and often shuts down.
it brings your PC to it's knees. (i have an XPS 200 D.Core w/160g HD/1gig so it's not the PC)
it's difficult to choose your own icons and fonts, unlike previous versions.
it's difficult to access e-mail if you have it through AIM.
It DOES look nice, but it's still fubared beyond recognition. Has to be the most 'un-user friendly' PC product I have ever come across. I'll stick w/5.9 -
I ditched the AIM client a long time ago. GAIM all the way.If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

when you go to www.aim.com, their Triton Beta is the only one they allow you to download. Unbelievable. It's an experimental beta and they won't allow you to download anything else? doesn't make any sense.
If Triton is what's causing your Father's PC to flip out, tell him to uninstall the p.o.s., including cookies, and take him to www.oldversion.com
Download version 5.9 from there. -
I will not install AOL IM.
I will not put anything remotely associated with Kazaa or any peer-2-peer networking ****.
I will not install any type of toolbar (Yahoo, Google or whatever).
You're just asking for trouble with viruses and spyware! No excuses! -

Hmm. www.oldversion.com. Never heard of it before, but sounds like it could be valuable.George Grand wrote: »
