It needs some work but we have sound.
Setup: 10 x 12 room, gear and listening position are on the long side.....
Equipment: Denon CD player, ADCOM SLC-505 passive, Carver m1.5t amp. Standard AR interconnects and 16 ga wire.
Speaks: Dahlquist DQ-10's // Polk RT 7's
The Dahls take up most of the room, got them about a foot out from the wall, slight toe in. RT7's same setup but more in the middle of the room......
My initial reaction is PURE JOY just having pulled the whole thing off to be honest. The sound of the DQ-10's is nothing short of amazing. Incredible detail, impressive soundstage and oh, so smooth. Bass extension is not super deep but what is there is so good and smooth.
After a fashion I hooked up the RT7's. These speaks really hold their own in all respects. I am more impressed with them in a 2ch rig than I thought I would be. However, on their own they just don't move air like the DQ-10's. To be fair though we are talking apples and oranges.....
Just keeping you guys informed....

Good job Troy, I'm gonna hit mine hard this next week. My additional Signal Cable interconnects will be here this week, and I just scored a Nad1130 Pre for $51.....
Get some pics man, I can't wait to see the doileys (sp?) and ceramic figurines placed on all your speakers....
I'll get up there as fast as I can.....
Cheers,
RussCheck your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
Sounds very cool Troy. Do we get to see some pics?
Peace Out~:DIf...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent. -
Ima thinking that I can get some pics this week hopefully.....
There are still some issues:
no stands for the DQ-10's yet
the "rack" in the mancave is not exactly a quality item
interconnects are questionable....
Still a work in progress but today was a huge leap in progress.
One more thing, there will NEVER, EVER be anything sitting on top of one of my speakers. NEVER, EVER. You can bank on that.

It "sounds" awesome! I'm jealous that you have an entire room all to yourself and your system. You lucky dog.
