I'm looking for some intrumental jazz, like the stuff that's on Diana Krall's Live In Paris album, but instrumental only.

Thanks.

At the risk of sounding stupid - (double that because I don't know Diana Krall's stuff) - and therefore might not be on the right track.

Sketches of Spain - Miles Davis
Charles Mingus - Blues & Roots
    Sonny Stitt - Constellation
Milt Jackson Quintet - Thats the Way it Is

Four of my all time Jazz favorites -
Although, in my book you can't go wrong with a little Chet Baker (but he sprinkles in vocals a lot).

    Depends:
    Piano driven:
Bill Evans- "Portrait in Jazz", "Sunday at the Village Vanguard, "Explorations"
McCoy Tyner- "New York Reunion" (this one is as sweet as it gets)
    Oscar Peterson Trio- "Night Train"
    Guitar :
Kenny Burrell- "Midnight Blue", "Blue Bash!" (w/ Jimmy Smith)
    Trumpet:
    Chet Baker- "Chet"
    Sax:
    Gerry Mulligan/Paul Desmond quartet- "S/T"
    Gene Ammons- "Boss Tenor"

Should be a spread of styles and instruments for you.

For piano, try Gene Harris. Aslo check out the Ray Brown Trio. Search for the terms, "trio" and "quartet" to find ones you like.

Thanks guys.. I will be looking into all of your suggestions.

Maybe I should reword, I want maybe more 'modern, edgy, more upbeat' instrumental jazz if there is such a thing.

I have Kind of Blue, some of John Coltrane's stuff, some Sting.

Try: Joe Sample, Bob James, Fourplay.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Yep, Joe Sample should be first on your list followed by Ramsey Lewis. Both of these guys have been around for a few decades (literally), so check out their most recent offerings. Then go for Brian Culbertson and Gerald Albright.

    Have fun.

Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. Both albums are excellent. Dave Holland Big Band too. His 2 latest are a good place to start.

I'm not a big jazz guy and don't know any of the people mentioned, but Al Dimeola is found in the Jazz section. He plays lighting fast guitar, and can mellow out when he wants to. Land of the Midnight Sun & Elegant Gypsy are my favorites (also Friday Night in San Fransisco w/ Paco Delucia & John McGlocklin [spl] is some hot live stuff).
