I purchased my SDA-1Bs new while stationed in Weisbaden Germany for the US Air Force. They've been hauled around for almost 20 years, been squeezed into small apartments, large dorm rooms, and a few homes.

They've been powered by a few setups over the years; first Yamaha, than NAD, now I'm running the speakers with a set of Carver M-1.0ts and controlled by the C-1 preamp. It's simple, clean looking, and sounds great.

Didn't expect to run across a forum dedicated to a speaker manufacturer. Hello to all. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that appreciates the SDAs.

Welcome to Club Polk. I got my SDA 1-Cs when stationed at Giessen Germany - not too far from Wiesbaden. Of course, Wiesbaden is USAF, and Giessen USA.

Question - do you still miss the hefe-weizen, local fests, Langsam Samstag, brotchen, A-bahning all over the place, stammtisch, etc? ;)

Yup, i remember being stationed near Hahn AB in the late 80's, bought my sda-2a's and hauled them all over the place. still have them, in mint condition and original packing and boxes. retired from the USAF in 98, and as fate does, i'm back in Deutschland as a civilian, got here in july this year. due to a momentary lapse of reason, left my baby's back in colorado  . missed them so much, had to score some sda srs bookshelfs from epay and sent over here. though am thinking of getting some lsi9's, heard good stuff about them.
