I've talked to him on the AVS forum. Seems like a stand up kinda guy. Of course, I could be wrong. But I'm usually a good judge of character. Besides, he's offering some decent Polks at a good price.

Please someone explain to me exactly what's wrong with someone trying to sell POLK gear at the POLK FORUM. It seems like a no brainer to me. The guy has good Polk gear he wants to get rid of, and he shouldn't be attacked for trying to do so at this forum, or anywhere else. If you don't like it, well, tough. It's not really your business, is it? It's his, and whoever's interested in what he's selling. I'm sorry for the rant, and I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but the way some of you treat people here is a little **** up.

    EDIT:
This isn't just about this guy. This is something that's been going on for a while now. Yes, I've spoken to him on another forum. I supposed you're right about that not being grounds enough to give him the "thumbs up". But I honestly get tired of seeing people get ripped apart for simply "peddling their wares". It's not called for. It really isn't. I just don't see what's so wrong about someone trying to sell their Polk gear here. Is this not a Polk forum? Who knows? Some of the guys who come here to sell their stuff may end up sticking around and becoming part of the "family". But you guys never give them a chance. Again, I don't mean to offend anyone. Just speaking my mind...

    Bottom line...

He has every right in the world to sign up for a forum just to sell his gear.

and we have every right to express out displeasure with it, plain and simple.

Don't think i attacked you or him.. and i usually get annoyed at the attacks also.. however your getting all bent out of shape and calling names.. yet your giving props to a newbie seller with no prior involvment besides chatting with him online on another forum.. we don't know who he is, and of course if someone feels comfortable buying from him they certainly can now can't they.. Good chance they wont chuck down 300 bucks to a stranger with no recourse for action if they get screwed.. Just my 0.02 cents

I'm actually new to the whole home audio thing, so as I learn more, I will be posting more here, not just to sell items. I thought this would be a good place to sell my speakers since I assumed that people would look to buy Polk speakers in this forum.

I do have some Heatware references from previous transactions that I've done. I know it's not much, but then again, I don't sell many things online.

Also, if you are local to me (San Francisco Bay Area), you can pick them up :)

Guys, you need to remember - we've had deals go bad here before. I've been burned once by a newbie joining just to sell gear - a couple dozen PMs and $150 later, I still have no product...

We discourage this kind of behavior nto to be asses or because we're uptight, but to avoid issues. This forum is based 100% on trust and we therefore must protect that or the whole thing falls apart.

Faster - I retracted that statement; however, I stand by it in that if it isn't someone being run off by a senior member, it's a bunch of other folks telling him he sucks.....it's old, tired, worn out, lame. Buyer beware, plain and simple.

Sorry for the headache. I know you guys didn't "attack" OC, but I'm sure it would have happened eventually. I know some of you aren't intentionally trying to be asses, it just looks like that to some. And please don't take that as name-calling. I'm not calling anyone an "****". It just LOOKS LIKE IT. And I understand about watching each others backs. I don't want to see someone get **** on a deal anymore than you do. But can we please be nicer to the noobs? Even if they are on here to sale something. I'm sure at least 98% of them aren't trying to screw anyone over.

I took it a different way then you explained above..

I agree totally with the above statement.. I usually don't jump on this bandwagon at all.. My problem was the reference for the new guy with no grounds for it.. I'm over it now and agree its a bunch of non sense..

OC - welcome to the CP forum and Flea Market. I believe what some of the more esteemed members are trying to say is that we value the chance to get to know you through participation in the different forums, and that new members who may appear to joining to sell a few items are naturally treated with some suspicion. With all the challenges involved with the typical internet auctions, the element of trust and full disclosure with regard to items being sold is a big deal here, and the members of this forum that came before me have done a great job of making this a safe place to sell and trade gear. Please respect this culture and I believe things will go much smoother.

I've never attempted to hide how much I paid foir the speakers. I even posted how much I paid for them on AVS Forum. I'm merely selling the speakers that I have decided not to use. I am still selling them for a good price, so it should not matter even if I paid $1 for them. In no way am I falsely advertising them, so I really don't know what the problem is. As for my old Heatware, sorry, I do not make a living from selling online and I very rarely sell anything for that matter. However, I must say, this has turned out to be a horrible experience here. Thank you MSkeezer for your support.

I'm usually a pretty quiet person, but I have to respond. This Flea market is for club polk members to sell to each other not to make a profit. I have dealt with several members buying and selling wares.Every transaction was top notch. I can remember the LSI7 deal from fry's a few years back club members went out of there way to help fellow east coast members. They could of flipped them and made some nice cash. If I am off base about the Flea Market let me know. We do have to police the flea market.
