My first gun

Ive been wanting a gun for a long time but between car audio and quitting jobs have never gotten around to it. I have nothing here in my crib for protection and my cousin is an avid gun enthusiast and Id like to go with him some time and do some target shooting and he's offered to teach me how to reload my own rounds as well. Well this weekend I was up in Ohio at the in-laws and my father-in-law gave me one. Not some rinky dink throw away POS but a damn nice Taurus 9mm semi!! Here is the gun he gave me! MSRP of $400!!

I was floored! Ive only been in the family for a year and a half and he's got 4 other son-in-laws not to mention 2 other sons. It meant a lot to me he would give me this as a gift. I took it as a token that Im officially in the family now so this also being my very first gun will be very special to me and Ill keep it as long as Im alive.

Im sure I just violated some rule about posting sappy crap in a thread talking about guns so I apologize. :D

Woohoo! Im excited about it! Now I have to get it registered, buy some bullets and find a place to shoot it!

Good on ya cochise. After meeting you in person, I've got say, I see you as a mini-gun (Predator style) kind of guy. That, or a couple sawed offs at the minimum.

    Cheers,

Very nice! I'm not sure I'd want a 9mm for personal defense, but it should be very fun for target practice.

And, congrats on finally becoming a member of the family! :D
