Center Channel Question
I currently Have the cs350ls as a cc, problem is with my new sony 50" and my new Sanus lowboy stand on its way, I have no Idea where to put my cc
The center shelf on my stand is too small for most quality CCs, I would hate to put the 350 on top of the TV with a omnimount cc stand.
I was thinking of replacing the 350 with 2 RM3000 satellites and putting them in the center shelf of my stand, I love the sound on these speakers and I use them as surrounds. I know they are not able to handle any low freq. but my preamp will allow me to set the crossover at
120 hz. I was thinking of using both units wired while driving the mono cc signal, I use a Rotel amp, I was wondering is this possible without compromising sound quality?

Put Cerwin on left side and Vega on right side. Vega can be whole car or just the speaker. Suspend both from load carrying beam in ceiling using 100 pound test line for big sea bass. Divert all frequencies above 22,000 Hz to centre and enjoy! You will get higher highs by suspending speakers closer to ceiling. If you put hooks on the lines, you will have more hooks in your music.

Keep in mind that the center channel speaker handles 80% - 90% of the sound, including all of the dialogue. With that in mind, get the best center channel speaker you can afford and presumably one that matches your fronts. That's an indirect way of responding to your question about compromising sound quality.
Try it out and hear the difference. Take your RM's and hook them up to your center channel and compare it to what you have now. Then hook one of your Lsi9's to the center and compare. I'm guessing there'll be huge differences in SQ between them.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Acoustic Suspension Speakers. If suspended high off the ground, you get lots of headroom (a good thing).
Seriously, a previous thread in this forum generally advised against using 2 center channel speakers due to localization of sound issues, cancelling effects and impedance consequences. -
I have a 50 inch panny and use the sanus nf-213 tv stand. My center channel speaker cs400i fits on the middle shelf. You have to slide it in from the side and barely fits. If you need an omni mount I have one still in the box.

I would like to do it anyway, Im thinking in a real world situation
it will sound fine and I wouldnt be surprised if it sounded better than
my 5 driver CS350. I'm just curious on how to go about doing the wiring
any sugestions?
If anyone is totally against what Im doing please let me know
I should add that Im splitting signal of the center channel amp
so that 1 channel will drive both speakers
