Since i don't have a fancy-smancy HDTV yet, i want to pick up something rather cheap for a player. Is this something that will last at least a year for me?

fairly cheap... Don't know enough about players to know if it will even work. :)

My God look at the shipping. I would stay away from this seller. Shipping is way out of line.

You could get something in store a lot cheaper than that with shipping included...

Ahh the Black Friday gig... Should have thought about that. I will stop by one on my way home tonight. Memorex will do the trick eh? Tough to beat $29.99 and no shipping ;) Thanks for the head's up.

Ya, I dunno why, but i shy away from shopping at BB, CC, Wallyworld, or Target for anything other than DVD's, or games... I guess i should get over that fear. Thanks for the reminder.

Just don't talk to any of the people there and you'll be fine ;) I don't know about you but I've yet to meet a big box store salesman that knew more about the product than what is printed on the side of the box.

The reason usually is because e-bay charges their fee based on the selling price NOT including shipping. So many people have charged a low price for the item and made up for it by charging a very high price to ship. So if this item plus shipping averages what the item goes for generally then it's still a good deal. Just a different way of breaking down the cost. There are however exceptions to this practice and sometimes the items cost is high as well as the shipping.
