First Experience With Separate Amplification

I just received a pair of Outlaw M2200 monoblocks to drive my rti12's that I have had for almost a year. After hooking everything up and recalibrating with the Avia dvd and spl meter, I was amazed at the improvement in sound quality. I thought the 12's sounded pretty darn good before, but now they sound great. I was grinning from ear to ear!

If it hadn't been for all of the great advice on this site, i may have never even considered separate amplification. Now I need to get another amp for the csi5. :)

Cool. Don't just stop with the center channel, get an amp for the rears, too.

What kind of sub do you have?

Good thread beavis814 ....wel done on the outlaws.

I'm in the market soon for som epower amps for my Rti12 also, so nice to hear the outlaw mono blocks are working out good for you.

Good way to go also, means you can upgrade in small steps. nice deal on outlaws site just now for monoblocks.

Have you gave them a good demo, I'd like to hear more about how the Rti12 s open up with some power amps.

    Have fun

Heh heh heh! Now it starts. Geez this sounds familiar. First I got the Parasound, then I got a monoblock, now I will eventually get a 5 chnl amp! If I knew then what I know now, I would have just gotten a 5 channel & been done with it!

    Happy upgrading fellas.

    Early B:

I don't have a sub yet. There's not really a good place to put one in the familiy room. However, I'm in the process of finishing the basment, and all of the audio/video equipment is going down there. Once that's all done, I'll probably be getting an svs of some sort. ;)

    arttymus:

I don't have any hesitations about recommeding the Outlaw monoblocks for the rti12's. The first thing I noticed was an improved soundstage. Then, I cranked up a few dvd's to reference level, and the 12's didn't have any problems. The sounded great! Also, since the receiver is no longer powering the 12's, the sound quality of my surround speakers (a pair of fxi5's) seemed to improve as well. Although, I'll need to do a little more listening to be sure.
