    One look at the pic in the link and was wonderin'.... sure enough...
    Singer/songwriter and guitarist Chris Whitley passed away of lung cancer on Sunday, Nov. 20, in Houston, Texas, at age 45.
    Know a little of Chris from local NPR station...

    That is a shame...I saw him a few years back. He opened up for Johnny Lang. I remember being impressed.
    As a fellow smoker who is trying to quit...stay strong Blues MD. It's the hardest thing I have ever tried to do...but sticking around for a while is worth it.

    Gave it up 14 years ago after a 22 year binge. Best move I ever made, next to the wife and kids. Anyone, giving it up should know you are not giving anything worthwhile up, with commitment you will one day be free.
