AE Symphonies tube preamp. It has the Alps volume pot and none of the ugly gold crap on the front, but I don't think it's the plus version -power supply doesn't look like it's solid state, but there might be some transistors I can't see on the bottom side of that PCB. Uses three 12AX7 and one 6x4.
Included:
Three sovtek 12AX7LPS
One JAN Phillips 6x4WA
One RCA 6x4 (spare)
Stock power cord.

We're buying a new house, there's gonna be a lot of moving in the next few months and a little less cash flow so something's gotta go. Pictures should say it all, but there' no scratches or blemishes. I actually prefer this amp over the Dodd on my friend's Klipsh speakers- Anything that's a little on the bright side would definitely benefit from this pre. Absolutely no hum with my Adcom 555 and it has no trouble with the fairly low input impedence on it.

$300 shipped to the lower 48; Canada, AK, HI, I'll pick up the first $20 of shipping.

PM /post with any questions. It's going to ebay later this week if there's no interest.

Did he post the Adcom for sale? Look at his sig.

The power supply rectification IS solid state (which is fine). For $300 this is a no-brainer for someone wanting to get into tubes. Point to point wiring, ALP's pot, cheap and readily available tubes. I've owned a couple AE peices, and they certainly can hold their own - compare to $750-$1200 retail, mass market tube preamps.

    Cheers,
    Russ

BTW- the Adcom isn't for sale just yet (let you know if the woman says the "b" system has to go) and yep, this is the same one that I got off faster100 awhile back.

    Ben,

First of all thanks for packing it like a tank. Awesome.

Here's what I matched it up with:

CD: New Sony SCD-C2000ES ($249 oade.com) and used Kimber PBJ's to pre.
Amp: my Golden Tube SE-100 and used MIT-330 HE's from pre.
    Speaks: my 2.3's

I grabbed the first cd I could find, Grover Washington's 'Breath of Heaven' holiday cd.

It hit me like the force of Katrina's wrath and almost brought tears to my eyes but I stood the charge and conquered the demon foes. I'm still blown away but sailing smoothly somewhere close to nirvana.

What can I say, unbelievable. Now where's the damn remote :D

For everyone else, these are available at a reasonable price brand new on ebay or http://www.ys-audio.com/ys-audio_eng.htm.

Candy - Congratulations on a good mix of equipment. I am suprised that the Sony Hater sheep didn't immediately flock to your choice of CDP source...happy listening!
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Great! Glad to hear that it fits well into your system! It was a great pre- but just didn't quite go with the rest of my gear.
