I'm looking for a 12v cable (think it's called a trigger) to power my Parasound 806, from my onkyo 989. I went to Tweeter today, and two guys had no idea what I was asking for.... where would I go to get one, and are they expensive?
The Denon POA-8300 came with one, i didn't see it in the box with the parasound tho someone lemme know please?

You can buy them at Radio Shack for less than 3 bucks....or you can PM me your address and I'll send you one._________________________________________________

I purchased one from Radio Shack for about $8.00. What I ended up using was basically a wall-wart (multi-voltage transformer) with multiple tips. I just dialed in for the correct voltage (about 9v as I remember) and plugged in the tip that worked with my amp. Then I plugged the transformer into the outlets in the back of my Onkyo 777.
It looks similar to this but I am pretty sure I purchased mine for under $10.00. Look at radio shack and wal-mart they both carry adapters like this for powering electronic games and such.

That's appallingly bad service, especially since every mid-level receiver these days has a 12 volt trigger circuit built in.
You need a simple mini-plug cable. Radio Shack has them. -
Hmmm...I'm talking about a plain cable with the right connectors to plug in your receiver 12v trigger output and your amp 12 v trigger input_________________________________________________

I was in a special situation because my AVR did not have a trigger output, only 2 standard plugs on the back of it. I had to improvise.
If your AVR has a trigger output, the standard cable is your best choice.

I just took another look and it's different on each item..... THe parasound show the trigger/gnd as two little screws and then I guess you wrap wire aound them and do the same on the onkyo, but thats a problem..... I just looked thru the manual of the onkyo and it seems that it does not have a trigger for it... the denon 48oo/poa 8300 in the other room was easy, they were simply two plugs and that was it.... I think my monster power surge box has another switched input left, I think thats what i'll use instead....that shouldn't affect the amp, no?
how the heck do you insert pics in this?!? -
Does that 12v trigger constantly circulate through the component though? Or is it just a pulse and then no more?

soolid, thanks guys!!
