Centrepiece of my gear is an AVR330. I am planning to upgrade somtime between three or four months from now.

Assuming HDDVD/Bluray will use 6/8 channel direct inputs, my next reciever must have this feature.

My top current choices are either a 635 or 7300.
Point - how much more powerful is the 7300 over a 635? Set aside the various technical ratings of each amp. I know the power ratings are truly constant per channel for the respective recievers Harman produces. I am talking about merciless, naked force with all the bells&whistles.

My two big towers are Rti10s.
The other speakers comprising my 7.1 are of less then equal calibre.
Naturally I will upgrade these overtime but for the immedate near future, the reciever must come. Movies featuring aggressive sound tracks partiucuarly Revenge of the Sith and Matrix Revolutions are the type of sound I want.

The 635 will get you more out of those RTi10. The 7300 has much more power, there is no comparison. Have you read the lab measurements of those units from the H.T. & S&V mag?

.. or just go separate Prepro and amp(s) now. Will make the path to "merciless, naked force" much smoother.
    More later,
