If you could get a pair of Rti8's for the same price of an Xbox 360. Which would you rather have?

    Umm...

What are u going to use more?

I mean if your buying a pair of RTi8... with no receiver... I mean ya know to just look at them - Id get the 360...

If I had a setup already and were satisfied with it... and I wanted the 360... Id get the 360...

If I had a setup I hated and I had a choice between the Rti8 and the 360... Id probally... get the better speakers... then the 360

    360

214 xbox 1 games will be compatable, and upgraded to 720p/1080i with anti-aliasing on launch. Eventually all games will be backwards compatable. It also has some great music/media capabilities.

For 400$, the 360 is one helluva deal.

I'd go with the xbox but only because I have LSi7's which I prefer over the 8's... If I didn't have any speakers or was working towards something better the 8's would be a pretty good option.

Would the Lsi7's sound good with a receiver in the $599-$799 price range? I might consider them if I can afford a receiver to go with them.

I drive mine with a NAD C352 integrated amp rated at about 80 wpc and it works pretty well for my room. You could probably get something decent enough to run them in that price range, but make sure it can handle a 4 ohm load.

I'm sorry, but you and your girlfriend are going to wait in line to buy a game box!?! Trust me on this, not too far down the road you're going to think to yourself, that was really stupid, I could have bought some better audio gear with that money and I wouldn't have had to stand in a line for 6+ hours to do it.

    I don't know, maybe it's just me.

The 360 is just another time eating game box that will be obsolete in a couple of years. A nice sound system can last you a lot longer and not think it wastes your time.

People can still work and do productive things while listening to music. :)

    Man.......

    Beardog...

Truth be known... if I were the guy...

Id buy the XBox 360 over the RTi8 ANYDAY. I plan to buy the XBox 360 eventually no how. I love "time wasting" "game boxes" "that will be obselete one day"

The opposite happened to me when I was just a youngin'. Local electronics store was going out of business. They had Pioneer CT-F500 cassette decks for like $66. I was 15 years old and my Dad and I got in-line at 6 AM and the store didn't open until 10 AM. They had exactly 40 of these decks stacked in semi-circle. As my Dad was pulling one off the top of the pile the rest of pile disappeared under him. We had guys offering us double the $$$ as we stood in the check out line.

I agree, I'd much rather wait in line for an audio purchase than a game box. That's just me though.

Do whatever floats your boat. I hope you're not thinking of using that as an audio piece as well.....

I decided to go get the 360 tomorrow.

    Rti8 for $450 tax included
    LSi7 for $500 tax included
    Lsi9 for $600 tax included

I will only be able to save $200-$300 on receivers so I can only spend about $400-$600.

I went up to best buy with the midnight opening around 7pm and their was atleast 100 people they looked at me and my girlfriend like we were crazy, and said that they already handed out the tickets. We called seven wal-marts and they had atleast 50 people waiting. So I went up to Fry's and chose the Rti10's over the Lsi9's. A couple of reasons were because I only have an onkyo receiver that probably wouldn't have handled the Lsi's. Another reason was that I preffered towers and I already have Rti4's.

I think I made the right choice it was either camp out and get it tomorrow or get these and buy the 360 later.

Grats on the speakers. Now when you finally decide to go buy an xbox 360 in the future the lines will be gone and maybe the price will have gone down too...
