Center Voice is so low

Hi,
I know nothing about speakers, and recently just upgraded my HT to Polkaudio based on my reading some messages from this forum. Here is my setup.
Receiver - HK AVR7300
Front SPK - Polk Audio RTI 10
Surround SPK - Polk Audio FXI3
Center SPK - Polk Audio CSI3
Sub SPK - Velodyne MINI-VEE
The problem here is when I watch a movie, if I turn the volume up to have the louder voice, which is just enough for me to hear it, coming out from the center, it will be extremly loud with the explosion scence.
I have tested with 2 different setup, and both of them give the same result: 1. All Speakers to Large, 2. All Speaker to Small except Center.
I have tried different Center thus as CS1, CS2, CSI25, and CSI3, and there are no different. I know the CSI5 is perfect matched for my RTI10 as PolkAudio recommended, but I don't have the space. Could you help me to solve this problem? Thanks.

sorry about your space problem. it sucks when you can't follow the reccomended match.
Do you have an SPL meter and a calibration disc such as Avia? If not you really need to consider their purchase.

The only way to properly set up an HT system is with an SPL Meter. Trying to do it by ear is not accurate. The idea is to get the speaker output identical for each speaker in your system.
Get your manual out (receiver) and follow the steps to get to the On Screen Display (OSD). There you will find the options available for adjusting the individual speaker levels and distance settings.

Like the others said, grab an SPL meter and calibrate your system. In the meantime, try bumping up the center volume (level) in the reciever so you can hear the dialogue.Receiver: harmankardon AVR235

Thanks for all. I just read the SPL meter description which just tells about the number of hours listening on certain sound level. How does it work with the receiver setting?

Yes, I did read it, but I still don't know how to use it to setup my receiver. Sorry for my HT setup 101 question.

Take a look at page 29 of your manual, the steps are listed for both the EZSET and for manual setup using an SPL Meter. Try the EZSET method until you can get ahold of an SPL meter.
