XBOX360 or Playstation 3

We went to BB today to check out Xbox 360, they have one on demo with Call of Duty 2. The graphics quality is awesome, especially on LCD/HD. Given the choice and if you have to select one, which one would you pick? Wait for PS3 next year? My son is more on the PS camp, but that XBOX looks great.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    If he has a library of PS2 games they're supposed to be backward-compatible with the PS3. Also, if you don't have an HDTV to hook it up to don't waste your time with either of these.

    If I had to choose, I'd probably wait. They're supposed to release an XBox 360 early next year with an HD-DVD drive. I'd let them work the bugs out of the first generation XBox 360.

    Saw the Xbox360 the other day and that thing is amazing, Call of Duty looked great

    i think spec for spec, the ps3 is supposed to a better gaming console than the xbox360

    I'm personally not interested in either as I don't seem to have time for any games these days, but I'd be more interested in the PS3 merely because of the games. Practically all my games are racing.

    Spec for Spec... the PS2 WAS the PS3... but that thing is wimpy compared to even the Gamecube.

    Ill BELIEVE it... when I SEE it. Yeah... Sony is a bunch of BS and always has been.

    I hope Microsoft bumps them out of the market.

    graphic quality is a big selling point. In fact, we got home last night, hook up the PS2 to the system in the living room with the RPTV HD, not even close. Vibrant colors but lack details as the XBOX360. So, all else being equal, you all said that PS3 will be comparable if not better, than XBOX360, as far as graphics?

    I recomend you wait for an actual game to be shown..during game play. All Sony has to show us right now is Cinematics...which is no way to determine what an actual game will look like.

    Im willing to be Sony is over-stating alot of what they're releasing...

    I think alot of it will be down to this...

    PS2 Owners > Racing > Gran Turismo - PS3

    Final Fantasy Fans > Halo Fans > FPS > Features/Customization > Xbox Live > XBox 1 - XBox 360

    Looks less likely that a HD-DVD drive will be included ever on the 360. MS made a lot of statments pointing toward a HD-DVD drive, even giving reasons why Blu Ray was bad, then later on started making statements like they'd never upgrade to any next gen drive.

    I do definitely agree with the comment to wait and let the bugs be worked out. I'll try my darndest to do that!

    As far as PS3 vs 360, there can't be a good answer yet other than "wait". No one on this board has played both, so opinions are pretty meaningless at this point. Sorry guys :)

    the whole hddvd drive with the 360 in the future will become my deciding factor. in the end, i'll prolly end up with both. especially if i need both an hd-dvd and blu-ray player.
