Received my Harmony 659 last night. I'm really pleased, the software gave me some heartache again, but cold booting cleared up the problems. I'm still fine tuning some buttons/settings and what-not, but this thig is pretty damn cool. The more I mess with it, the more features I uncover--really a cool remote.

$75 bucks well spent....

I take it this means you couldn't get your other one straightened out?

No, this is that one. It was the software that was giving me hell before...I downloaded the SW early so I'd be setup and ready to roll when the remote came.

I finally got everything de-installed and did a fresh reload when the remote came.

Ahh, I gotcha. Well, glad you like the remote! $75 doesn't seem to be a ridiculous price for a remote, either.

Sure, you can program the buttons similar to your current remotes button labels, that way the transition is pretty smooth. My wife really likes the Harmony.

I've re-programmed several functions so the button labels were indentical to the old remotes. Still dickin around with it though. Right now I'm trying to get my Polk XM tuner "menu" button functions to work with the Harmonys' "menu" button....

Glad you like, like you I have been messin' with it make it just right, not quite there yet.

I still must give my wife a tutorial.
The only issue I still have is whenswitching from vcr to D-tv or vice versa, it never chooses the right input, seems to always skip over component.

Try adjusting the "timing" of the command in your advanced setup. I've noticed it turns my TV volume up 2 numbers at a time, 9-11-13-15, etc...I'll tweak it tonight when I get home.

I have that issue as well, I don't know if I need to increase or decrease the numbers and by how much.

I'll let you know what I find out. I'll play with different millisecond times and see if it corrects it...

My pronto touch screen remote is actually real wife friendly.. even though for me it takes longer to navigate then a regular button remote. I have a screen that says "what do you want to watch" and buttons dvd and vcr.. not that we use the vcr,, one press turns the tv to video 2, turns on the avr and go's to dvd and turns the dvd player on and press play.. My wife and 7 year old can watch movies when im not home now :)
