This finicky board is driving me crazy. Sometimes the smilies work sometimes they don't. When I put something in ALL CAPS, The board decides it wants all small. This is especially true of the Title! :mad: :confused:

Can you fix this please or tell me how to fix it?

    Firstly, the all caps thing is to keep people from shouting all the time. Secondly, if you were looking for this smiley- :D

    then you need to have ":" and "D", not :d

    I clicked on that :D smiley to the right of the text box & the board chose to give me the nonsmiley. If they are not going to work when clicked on all the time what's the point?

    I know net etiquette so I don't shout all the time. However, If I do choose to put something in all caps, then the bleepin board should leave it as I typed it! :mad:

    Now I'm checking preview & the smilies are there, I'll just bet when I click send the damn things will be gone!

    Hahah, I'm not justin, but I'll tell you what happened.

    You can put SOME things in all caps, but at some point the board says "too much caps" and converts your caps into lowercase. I assume this is when EVERY letter of yoru message is caps.

    A funny REMNANT of this, is that the smiley you tried to use is a colon and a CAPITAL D. So when teh filter kicked in saying "this message is all in caps" it kicked it to all lowercase - INCLUDING your smiley, which ceased to be a valid smiley as soon as it was changed.

    My recommendation, if you're going to post a message like the one you did, is put something in lowercase at the bottom fo the message, like "preventing filter" or "cathy rules" or even "bob rules" if you wish.
