Collecting some Ebay data and stumbled across this auction:

Are those original? I've never seen Polks with horns.

    God, not those again...

They are not original speakers. They are the monitor 10's, but with a horn added sometime after. I'm sure they sound just great!

    Ugh...

    FrankenPolks at their best.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Thanks, I'll omit this from the data then. Looking at the auction questions and answers, the seller was insisting that the horns were original.

There's also a set of 3.1s with the passive radiators replaced with woofers.

    Ick.

True speaker abuse, a shame, maybe you should put a Frankenpolk Hall of Shame up SDA! Show folks what NOT to do.

Probably done by some Klipsch lover. And ruined what looks to be a really decent pair, too.

Went pretty high for having questions. The real shame would be if the old Peerless tweeters are dead. If they're still working, at least the horns could be undone.

Of course the seller also called the PR a woofer...

Not seeing the 3.1's... Got a link? Since they have conical PR's (ala the Mon 10's) rather than flat ones they might look like woofers, but be PR's.
    More later,
