Is there a good website that has good pictures of all the SDA's, especially shots with the grills off to show off the drivers? Would like to have a good pic of the 1C's and 2 B's along with the big boys.
Thanks, Mike
Thanks, Mike

As a group we should help polksda get his site a little more complete. I'm sure there are members here who have examples of some of the models that he does not have an info or pics on. He may or may not want our help...but if he does I bet we could get that site 90% ± complete. I would offer my SDA 1C pictures but he has those."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

I could take some picks of my 2As and the earlier version of the SRS 2s that aren't bi-wirable like the ones he already has pictured.
Would that help?"SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I think you are on to something, maybe we could sticky some pics of the different ones as well as the specs on each............

There are some threads onsite, that have been set-up for SDA/MON/RTA Reference. It just takes members giving a crap, but of course that's optional these days.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I think we need to find out if polksda wants our help. I know keeping up a site like that is a PITA, and he may be over it. It just seemed to me that we have most of those seakers represented on the forum. A couple of pics and an email to him could go a long way to updating his site. IF he has an interest and/or the time to do so.I think you are on to something, maybe we could sticky some pics of the different ones as well as the specs on each............
Not necessary...If he updates his site. Then may a sticky with the address would suffice."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Mark, you already posted my SRS 2s, right??
I guess I could put my 2As up when I get home. They're in decent shape but not perfect. The normal wear from 20+ years of use is all."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Sounds good, I'll take some pics of my 2A's and 1A's and send them along he does have the disclaimer on the front page...
From the site
"The list below is a work in progress. Baseline data is taken from an older Orion Blue Book. I'm not even sure some of the models listed actually exist. If you see inaccuracies, please let me know. Also, if you have detailed specs, pictures, or especially user manuals on any of the models listed below, please email me" -

Nothing wrong with PolkSDA.....but I like the idea of having reference threads on the forum; this way things stay more under control. I would add a "sacred" vintage speakers forum maintained by one or a few people to control that only the following threads would be posted:
-Reference Threads with specs/pictures.
-Crossover upgrades threads.
-Cabinets upgrades
-Specific how to's (how to fit a tweeter, etc)
The vintage Speakers forum has a ton of useful info, but unfortunately many things get lost with so much BS (sorry...), and the search not always works...

Hi folks,
I appreciate the offers of assistance, and it is greatly appreciated.
I realize that the site is quite incomplete. I've kinda let the site languish a bit... I have a lot more pics that I haven't posted, as well as more Ebay auction data. I also have quite a few user manuals that I still need to scan/airbrush. It can get fairly time consuming.
Vintage Polks are just one of many hobbies and web sites that I do, so when I get "burned out" a bit on one I jump to another for a while. Maybe it's time to come back around and work on the site again.
What would be of greater assistance than the pictures at the moment, is if you look at a page for one of the speaker models, say for example the Monitor 12:
http://www.polksda.com/monitor12.shtml
See all the information at the bottom?
Years of production:
Drivers:
Dimensions:
Weight:
Frequency Response:
Impedence:
Recommended Power:
Efficiency:
I have a hard time obtaining that information on many of the models. The Polk web site has information on some of the models, Orion is woefully incomplete (and outright wrong in many cases), and one cannot rely on Ebay auctions for accurate information.
Thanks in advance. -
OK SDA, I will check to see what I might have.
