Go with the infinity, I think they are cea-2006 compliant so it will put out it's rated wattage. I have heard a lot of infinity amps and I think they sound as good or better than mtx amps, haven't actually owned one so I can't speak for the reliablitly on them.

Infinity amps are good especially if you can get them at a bargain.

There no where near MTX league tho. I seriously doubt theyll exceed their ratings as much as MTX does nor will their build quality be in the same league.

MTX are some of the best amps on the market. If you can get a deal on one, grab it.

The MTX564 is a nice amplifier. I had one in my car, the thing was no slouch in the output department. Only reason I took it out of my car was because I got an Arc Audio amp.

    wanna donate it to me?

not that i necessarily have an immediate use or need for it, but having spare amps is a good thing, considering i gave away my last 3 spare amps and am now down to zero spare amps.

i've been told, "you know you are too into car audio when you have SPARE amps", but i digress...

i have the 7541a myself, no complaints. it puts out the power it say 111x4 though. it is by far better than many of the cheaper amps out there. i am not sure how it compares to the mtx amps, but overall i think it is a pretty good amp.

i'd go with the mtx, based on build quality and so on...

infinity beta amps of years gone by were scrap on a plate. they started out listing at like 8 and 900 bucks --- circa 1997 ... within a year or two they were down to 99 bucks closeout at crutchfield.

i do not believe the infinity beta amps were JBL in origin. were they, i doubt they'd have been so bad.

the new infinity stuff i have no idea on - i've not heard it - nor used it. so i can't give an opinion. inifinity is part of the JBL / Crown family though - so if the new amps are in any way built by that division, then I would say they are quite good quality.

Hmmmm, how many qualifies? Ive got 5. An Pioneer from 1988, a Coustic from 1990, a Pioneer Premier from 1997 and a pair of Alpines from 2001.

I wish I wouldve kept my pair of PPI stereo amps in my last truck.

The oldest Pioneer isnt in good shape as it sat out in the garage for years. The old Premier amp I may wind up selling. The Coustic will be with me forever as its a classic. Its from the days when Coustic was a powerhouse. The Alpines are great for spares in case one of my Crossfires goes on the fritz I can slap one of the Alpine in there for the time being.

It is actually sold :D .

I have a few extra amps. Two of them being some really old Coustic amps from the late 80's. I actually ran the Coustic AMP-460 for a little while to run my sub a couple of years ago. Still worked with no issues :) .
