We attended the the John Mayall and the Bluebreakers "Rockin' Blues Review" last night at George Mason University - with Eric Bibb and Robben Ford. A fantastic concert!
I have many Robben Ford selections in the music library, ranging from today back to his first recordings with Charlie Musslewhite in the '60s. None of them capture the energy of his guitar and vocals live. We attend live music events very regularly and have have caught some fantastic talent - Ford now tops our list. We were totally blown away.
The tour is headed north. Don't miss this if you're anywhere close:

I was blown away with Ford's live playing when I picked up this bargain bin CD on a whim - Jimmy Witherspoon Live at the Mint.
Spoon's vocals are pretty rough due to his illness. Ford and his band are excellent and sympathetic backers though.
Also, this is a nice sounding live recording.
Just curious, what are your top Ford CD recos.

Hi Adam,
My top three favorites are all pretty recent:
1. Keep On Running
2. Supernatural
3. Blue Moon (he played "Indianola" last night and left everyone slack jawed - including Buddy, whose a fabulous blues guitarist - as well as "It Don't Make Sense (You Can't Make Peace)" and "The Way You Treated Me (You're Gonna Be Sorry)" which were both show stoppers.)
"Authorized Bootleg" is an enjoyable listen - but, I'm an electric blues fanatic and the acoustic set doesn't do it for me. -
Thanks, I'll check them out when I get a chance.
