There are more threads than this. I only did a search for "RTi vs LSi"

Also, I only went back to about May of 2005. If you know of more, please feel free to post them.

I didn't start this to prompt any arguments, just to show how this keeps coming up over and over again. I'll probably change the format of this thread, so if you have any ideas how it should be set up, let me know.

Not done, will edit this list later.

Stickies suck!! Then we can't hash out the same issues month after month after month. Probably 75% of the threads here have a twin somewhere.

    +1, Sid!

hmm...if I can use google anywhere on the internet and desktop, why can't noob use that also in CP? Google and search function have become a second instinct to me, it should be taught as part of the computer class in elementary school.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I think its the fact people are to lazy.

Or perhaps...they feel their particular question is more important than the other 50 questions that were asked before it...that just so happen to be the same exact question...with the same exact answer...

Or perhaps they feel their question is something so earth shattering and ground breaking it requires its own thread.

I havnt quite figured it out.

Another one is about the receiver being hurt by the LSi/vice versa...

Why is it so hard for manufacturers to put this on their website... Speakers below the recomended ohm use may damage this amplifier. It could over-heat, blow up, give off methaine gas, or perhaps give you carbon monoxide poisoning if you do it!

Then no one would ask it anymore...

While I was taking my monthly stroll through Circuit City this morning I couldn't help but take a peak at the Polk 'Open Box' specials. I looked over the Monitor line and was surprised to discover that they actually have padding inside the actual cabinet. Sweet. I don't think rti's do that. Or maybe they do idk

What on earth is "padding in the actual cabinet" ?

    *scratches noggin*

And how badly was this speaker damaged that you saw the "padding in the actual cabinet"

padding = insulation material ~ while looking through the bass port.

padding = VERY poor choice of words.

The speakers looked like they'd been dropped from the top of the building.

    What type of insulation material?

I do not know of one Polk speaker that uses Foam (which to me is "padding") - where as Polk seems to be more fond of Polyfill. Which is "stuffing" to me...

And yes, all Polks that I have seen uses Polyfill of some sort...

i don't know. Just insulation. Someone who has monitors look through the porthole. I can't describe it. It's the same stuff that's in the infinity primus towers. I noticed them out there too.
