Here is a nice engine pic.
Brett, I totally agree with you. Anything in that generation before 1987 was a ****. ...and not just a little one. In 87 they learned how to do it right with the TPI. Before that it was pay as you go.

Very cool car! Chuck, I and a few others are no more than 20 minutes away, call next time you have a problem.Political Correctness'.........defined

Oh, no problem. Sometimes you just like to take advantage of the weather. Seriously, I looked upon the trip as an adventure, not desperation. I appreciate the offer. When the snow is 4' deep and the wind chill is -30 I'll give you guys a call...
Thanks!

Man, I wouldn't give Chuck a ride. Remember the dude from Silence of the Lambs?
Too close of a resemblance.
Hey, if you don't know where he lives, you don't have to worry about having to testify about what you may have seen there.

Nice car, Chuck! I didn't know you were a Camaro guy. Your "rules" sound a lot like mine- Most everyone thinks I'm crazy. Of course, my car's not as special as yours. For some reason I'm thinking the 1LE option was offered through '95, but I may be wrong. I quit keeping up too. As you said, it turned into a relatively meaningless option. Maybe firmer shocks, or something.
Just how much is that engine modified beyond what the factory did? What kind of runners do you have on there? LPE? Looks like a factory plenum.. Looks like it's still got the iron heads and the stock injectors. How about the cam? Stock computer tuning? I got pretty involved with burning custom chips there for a while, but I haven't messed with it in a long time. I was working on the MAF system though and not speed density.

ROFL Great story on how you ended up with it!
So, you actually tried driving without headlights? Did it come that way?

But please, not a rear shot.
I used to know all the engine components but it's been awhile. All the normal mods, cam and chip parameters were suggested by the chevy engineers. These guys had some real contacts. The iron heads are on there now because the last owner swapped them in for some reason. I didn't really understand. He gave me the aluminum ones and said I should try them for myself but I never have. They also had some type of converter anti-lockup switch which the last owner removed. Again, I'm not sure why. I bought a nitrous kit, an MSD ignition with timing control and a bunch of guages and lights and stuff but like a lot of my other projects I've never found the time to put them in. Mostly right now I'll be happy to get the starter working so I can get the emissions tested in time. Oh, the headlights. For whatever reason sometimes if I go really fast things seem to fly up and hit the lights. It is on it's 3rd or 4th set of lights. Probably something to do with the aerodynamics somehow. In any case one time I put black plastic covers over them and got pulled over the same afternoon. I always end up driving it during the daytime anyway but that didn't seem to be a reasonable argument at the time.
BTW, the pics were from two years ago but it still looks the same. Just a lot more dusty these days.

Man, you better get a move on and start doing those upgrades! Except, of course, the nitrous. Please don't put nitrous on a Camaro, especially one like that.George Grand wrote: »
