Hey all my fellow Polkadots!

I'm in need of some activist groups you would know of that seem very over the top and uncalled for. These groups need to have some sort of a following and some online resources.

This is for a final paper in my english course. I'm trying to focus on Civil Rights activists such as Rosa Parks and what she did compared to these people today. It just seems as though everything now is a joke... people just want to feel like they are a part of something, but in reality they are just here trying to raise issues that do not really exist.

so... any help or input would be appreciated. Lets try not to list any feminist groups since I have just finished a huge paper on feminism and feminist ethics.

Thanks!
Adam

Try checking out the guy who originally started Green Peace. I can't remember his name at the moment, but after Green Peace became more politcal and not as hardcore as they were, the guy left and started another organization. From what I remember, he used to do **** like ram whaling boats and what not. Big animal rights guy. He got away with a lot of what he did cause he was very up front and foward about it.

I found who it was, Capt. Paul Watson. Now with the Sea Sheperd Conservation Society. I know its not civil rights as you has said to focus on, but someone who is less politcal, and more action, as far as activists go.

NAACP oughtta be in there as well. MLK would be ashamed of them at this point. It would fit with your comparison. Compare Parks and King to what the NAACP and ACLU are doing.
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

Hell, I'll go you one better. Compare Parks & King to Jesse Jacksons sorry ****. The "real" civil rights movement had a distinct mission and a plan of action. Now, there is NO leadership. It's all business. People have turned civil rights into a very profitable industry. MLK had a dream, and Jesse Jackson (and the like) PIMPED the dream.

Sorry for the mini rant, but dammit somebody (african american) had to say it sooner or later.

The Media Research Center headed by Brent Bozell

    http://www.mediaresearch.org/

they may or may not relate to Rosa Parks and the civil rights movement, but they're certainly an out of control activist group that seems to overly bash African American groups (i'm not talking about that trash gangster rap either), homosexual groups, non-Christian groups, and anything on TV that's PG and over. A totally facist organization.

if you're not sure who david horowitz is, you might google up his name and frontpage magazine. he was a big counter-culturer in the old days, then he turned to the uh,dark side (heh, heh. conservatism). in addition to the frontpage website, his book 'radical son' tells an inside tale of civil rights groups that you probably won't find anywhere else.

Although my beliefs on the whole do not come from the same salt as Horowitzs' Imo his 'Academic Bill Of Rights' does raise valid points.
