The guy down the street has his decorations up already. Bah, humbug!

I decided to get all my shopping done before Thanksgiving so I can enjoy teh spirit of the season rather than worrying about shopping. Seems... backwards, but I think it'll be good :)

Great time of year. Having children makes you live like a kid again. On the list,

    1) New hockey net
    2) Stiga hockey table game
    3) Hot Wheels

Who is this Christmas for anyway, me or the 6 year old.
    Michael ;)

I love x-mas just as much as the next guy, but I HATE the commercialism. For me it's not about buying ultra expensive gifts I will need the next year to pay off, but being with family and friends and enjoying each others company and appreciating what we already have. This year personally I've had several family/friends diagnosed with various diseases and afflictions and that makes me just thankful I'm healthy and still alive.

My biggest frustration comes with the over-commercialism. Really, for me, I don't get into the x-mas spirit until after Thanksgiving. Retail sucks this time of year as they only care about the almighty dollar. How early can they start convincing us to part with our hard earned $$$.

I agree with that, but obviously the giving and receiving is a nice PART of christmas, so I think getting all the shopping (aka commercial stuff) done by Thanksgiving is nice because then you can getinto the real SPIRIT of Christmas after Thanksgiving without even thinking about shopping and all the other nonsense . At least that's the way I look at it.
