Last weekend I bought a Dynaco ST120 amp. This is the amp that in the original Stereophile review not only compared favorably against the Dynaco ST70, but against the Marantz 8B($$$$) tube amps. The reviewer went on to say "not only does this amp have no sound of its' own, but it actually makes speakers sound better than tubes". I hooked it up to a Kenwood Basic C-2 preamp (sweet) only to find out the preamp was fried. I'd previously thought only the amp (matching Kenwood) was fried. The guy I bought the Dynaco from also has a Soundcraftsman EQ/Preamp (sweetX2) for sle at m request. After I discovered my pre was fried I thought of using my SAE Parametric EQ as an interim preamp. It has volume controls nad source+monitor inputs.

What are your thoughts on the EQ/makeshift preamp thing?

P.S. Not as much as of late.
Make it Funky! :)
