Looks to be the start of an excellent game. 7 to 7 with the Colts driving deep into Pats territory.

God I hate the Colts and Payton Womaning.

Beat us when we have more than 3 starting defensemen sometime. Maybe we shoudl complain to the league and get 6 rules changed cuz we're losing. Bunch of crybabies.

    Colts are freakin DOMINATING.

I love it. I'm so tired of the Pats.

But you know what annoys me to no end...

"Payton just mooooooooves so much... so fast..."
"Payton can throw oh so far...so good"
"Payton just moves the ball real far, real fast"
"Payton runs a no huddle offense and tires the defense!"
    "Payton...Payton...Payton..."

Anytime the announcers just talk up a team and a player... it just annoys me beyond belief...

It was kind of like 2 seasons ago when the Panthers faced the Eagles and the entire time they talked up the Eagles...then we started kicking their butt and their tone really changed. Same goes for the Superbowl. I dont think anyone expected Carolina to do as good as they did...

I hate to see biased games/announcers.

Yeah, I may actually shut this off.

Seriously. This isn't even fun. Of course, SIXTEEN of our starters were questionable or out coming into this game. SIXTEEEN. Even this team can't win against an admittedly really good Colts team with that much going against them.

They talk up Manning because he is THAT good. He practically runs the offensive show. Take a look at the offensive coordinator sometime. The man barely speaks. Manning is one of the greatest QBs the game has ever had, in my opinion. There is a reason he holds two TD records. Yes, he has awesome receivers, but he is awesome as well.

Manning is a fantastic QB, but one of the greatest? Please. He runs that offense, but you cannot take ANYTHING away from his receivers, or even Edge. Seriously, I saw them make some catches tonight that were just.... unreal. And of course, everyone forgets all the people up front that give the guy time to get done what he gets done. Take away his O-Line sometime and see how well he throws downfield.

Not to mention taht his chicken dance before every friggin play has to be the third most annoying thing in the NFL, right behind John Madden and excessive penalties.

"There was an unnatrual act on the play..."

    "Manning Danced incredibly odd..."

    "10 yard pentalty...repeat 1st down!"

Madden... "Payton made an unnatural act."
    "He IS God!"
"Now watch, those extra 10 yards dont bother him at all..."
"Its 3rd down and watch, Manning will find something to do..."
"Its 4th down now but Manning is stronger than ever..."
    "As Brady takes the field..."

Then again How many did Marino win? Was he one of the "greatest"? I think so.

Super Bowls do not necessarily define great individuals. They usually define great teams. Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Kurt Warner, Jim McMahon, Doug Williams, Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Jim Plunket, Kenny Stabler (one of my all time favorites BTW), etc... all have Super Bowl rings. Many are great "stories"... but not a great "quarterback" in the bunch (well...maybe Stabler ;) ). Great quaterbacks that don't have rings in additon to Marino...Jim Kelly, Dan Fouts, Fran Tarkington. Not bad company...but Manning still has a chance...they don't. Whether he wins a superbowl or not Peyton Manning WILL be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I think he will end up with a ring too.

As side note...Tom Brady probably will be in the HOF too "because" of his Super Bowl wins. I think he deserves it.

Show me a great quarterback without any of these teamates. I have yet to see a single game where a quarterback won by playing 1 on 11. I don't believe even the "great" Michael Vick could do that.

Defining greatness as an athlete is always tough. Especially in a complex position such as quarterback. Some people say that Manning and Marino weren't great because they could throw a great ball, but they weren't team leaders. They didn't have the intangibles that it took to bring a team to a championship. That's why a lot of people say Brady IS great - he didn't have the stats, per se, especially in his early years, but he came through in teh clutch (he's still perfect in overtime, perfect in the postseason, often has late-game game-winning drives with little time left on the clock), whereas Manning may have the stats but maybe HASN'T come through when it counted (big playoff games at Foxboro, for example). Kind of like A-Rod.

Brett Favre. He's been making superstars out of the scrubs his entire career. I don't know one draft pick we've had that has ever really worked out. He can go wild, but I've watched him many, many, Sundays carrying nearly an entire team of Scrubs to the playoffs year after year.

It's always a team effort, but great Quarterbacks (and just plain great players) enhnace the play of the entire team, even when those people have no right to be starting in the NFL.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady are BOTH very good quarterbacks. Quit letting your team biases color the achievement of others.

ED ZACHRY. I love it when a player gets traded to another team from a team where he was worshipped by the fans, then he's considered a scrub by the very same fans once he's playing for another team

Also, I don't think there's a single team out there that wouldn't trip all over themselves to have P. Manning as their QB. Hell, I'm not a P.Manning fan by any stretch, but I give him his due repect. He does drive me nuts watching him before a snap. I'll also give him credit for being a very good role model and for being a very generous and caring person. But as a Razorback and a Cowboy fan, I'm not a fan.

IF you say it is the quarterback's fault for not coming through in the big game then he should get ALL the credit for the success he has. I've never heard that Edge cant win the big game, Harrison can't win the big game, the OL can't win the big one. Can't have it both ways. If they are the keys to his success...then they must share the blame for the failures.

I am not a fan of a team/franchcise. There have been teams over the years that I have followed because of the collection of players that come together to make up that particular team. I may start to follow the team because of a particular player and become a "fan" of sorts. Raiders, Dolphins, Colts and to a lesser extent the 49ers have all been teams over the years I've enjoyed pulling for. I have no loyalty to ANY team...never will. I am a casual fan at best.

See, it's easy for me to say this because talking nicely about the Colts is like me trying to talk nice about the Bears or Vikings. =P

As far as Favre, it's a shame the administration let him go down like this, because he's in the best shape of his career. I think he'll be back next year, and in all honesty....I'd love to see them scoop up T.O. He's a piece of crap, but he's the weapon Brett Favre has NEVER had on this team. Andre Rison? Total piece of crap individual, but he was the model citizen while he was here and helped us win the Super Bowl. I'd take T.O. at the end of Favre's career if it was for at least one last run.

Don't like him, like the talent, and as bad as the rest of it is...I'm willing to risk the Nuclear Meltdown to take a WR like T.O. After all, he has more to prove than anyone else. Especially if he expects to play in the NFL.
