CSI5 - Above or below the Plasma

I have a Panasoinc 50 inch Plasma mounted right over the opening of the fireplace.

The ceiling height is 8 feet.

The TV takes up the height from 51 inches to 84 inches.

So do I mount the CSI5 above the TV where the bottom would be at 7 feet with it pointing down - where it looks really nice and would conceal my wiring.

Or do I mount it below the TV where the top be at 51 inches, at a perfect ear level, but doesn't look nice since it sticks out so far. And would be subject to heat from the fireplace?

I know the stock answer is that at ear level is optimal - but just how much difference will it really make.

The room is 16 X 30. 16 being the depth to the TV.

i do trust that your fireplace runs via natural gas? if you burn wood, you'll eventually smoke out your tv display and your polk.

also, your center will be way higher than your mains. that will throw off your imaging. if you must continue as planned, mount your center beneath the display.
