Does anyone have advice? I'm looking to get a pair of Rti38's, but have been directed by a few to the Rti6's. Both have great reviews, the 6's have a smaller cab. and tha's cool. But sound is what I'm looking for. I'll use these as fronts (mostly HT) teamed up with a CSi30. -Also, what would be a good price to pay for each, either new or in exellent cond..

RTi38's
RTi6's
CSi30

Thank you for your input!
I appreciate the time and advice you give to newbies :)

I would use the 38's because they are timbre matched to the csi30. That will give you a more uniformed sound across your front stage. Those 38's can be a little hard to find sometimes. All the best and welcome to cp. ;)

Thanks for the welcome and advice.. I was leaning back that way as well.. I was offered a pair of RT35i's to pair with the CSi30 and though a very good speaker as well it has the trilaminate tweeter, and though it would probably do me great for my HT purposes. I think I'll hold out a few more days for a good pair of Rti38's to surface. Agree??? or should I jump on the 35i's.. I think I'm not as interested in the RTi6's anymore. Thanks!

I personally like the present rti generation the best, but my reasons are purely subjective based on appearance, build quality and dynamics and have nothing to do with the actual tweeter itself. MOST people here however prefer the sound of the older trilam vs. the newer silk dome.

The cs245i, rt25i, and rt35i have the trilams. The csi30, rti28, and rti38 have a silk dome. I don't recommend mixing and matching the tweets if good timbre matching is your goal. The only reason I haven't replaced my set of older f/x300i's for another set of fxi3's is because I don't have to. It's 3/4" tweeter is composed of silk; just like the other speakers in my setup.

If you like the csi30, then in your case I would only buy the rti38's.

How would the Rti6 match up with the CSi30, are folks more partial to the older RTi38's here? I see some reviews that are fantastic for the RTi6's and some really don't feel it's a good replacement for the Rti38's..? I haven't purchased the CSi30 yet, but I'm in negotiations.. I guess I need to listen to the 6's myself.. I'm just trying to replace my front stage of myRM6600. I'll bet the Rti28's would be great too, but my new room is fairly large, so the 38's would probably be the better of the two.. Thanks for the helpful wisdom, and any help finding any of these..

Dont' underestimate the 25i, 28i, i4's. With a sub and good quality amplification they can fill out a medium sized room very well. Just because they're 'small' speakers doesn't mean they're stuck with small room and mass market receiver duty only.

    And try Ebay.
Those speakers are found all over the place there.

    Yes, that is correct..
I have a Denon 2802 it seems to have a warm rich sound, so if I found something that was on the bright side the Denon would tone it down a bit, however I don't mind a bright speaker at all, just not overly bright, thus the AVR combo and speaker choice combo would be important. Thanks for that consideration, what is your advice?
