If you have a rectangular room is it better to set up the system by width of the room or have the depth between the couch and the screen? By width I mean I would have mor4e room for speaker placement up front by depth I mean I could move the couch forward and have room for a sixth speaker in back. The room is not perfectly squared and is longer in one direction. Hope this makes sense and thanks for any help. Just got my new csi front center and am ready to get busy with it.

I vote for room in the back . Get the sixth speaker and even a seventh. 6.1 is better than 5.1 and 7.1 is better (to me at least) than 6.1. Have fun!

What are the actal dimesions of your room and how exactly will it be placed? Where are the doors and windows located throughout the room?

If you would like, draw it for us in paint or powerpoint and it will help us make a more informed decision.
