For a 6.1 system, would a Polk RM6801/RM101 or RM6901/Rm201 be a logical choice for a 6th back-surround speaker to accompany the SurroundBAR. If not, would you suggest another option.

Appreciate any response...

You could try to balance the rear channel with an SPL meter, but I think that either way you'd be out balance with a direct rear center, and a SDA surrounds coming from the front......only one way to find out.

Brett, thanks for your response. I never considered that a rear center speaker would put things 'out of balance.' My aim is to take advantage of that additional channel for DTS, etc.

I cannot test it out yet. A relative is purchasing a new plasma and I suggested a suroundBAR as a speaker option. The room is small and 'acoustically challanged' and the TV will be placed at an angle in a corner with no wall on one side of the display - it opens to a larger room. This situation eliminated the Yamaha YSP-1 as a choice (it needs walls on each side to be effective) and a package of individual surround speakers would not work out well either. When I first became aware of the soundBAR that seemed ideal for the situation.

I asked about the 'sixth' speaker so that could be purchased at the same time as the soundBAR and I could complete the entire setup for them all at one time.
